Church Services & Coronavirus Updates

July 3, 2020

Due to the recent spike of COVID-19 cases in Bexar county and the new (or amended) guidelines, protocols and mandates from our state and local officials and with our congregation’s  agreement (determined via conference call held on 6/29/20 at 7:30pm), we will continue hosting our services online until further notice.  Thank you for understanding. Your continued love, prayer and support is much appreciated.

May 2, 2020 (Revised 5/4/20)

On April 27, 2020 Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued Executive Order GA 18. On the same day, the Texas Attorney General issued Guidelines for House of Worship During the COVID-19 Crisis.

In summary, this order and guidelines encourage churches to continue conducting as many activities as possible remotely. It also provides the following health protocols for in-person services:

  1. At-risk individuals should not attend, that is, anyone 65 years and older or anyone with an existing medical condition.
  2. If at-risk individuals desire to attend the in-person church service, a special area or service should be made available to them.
  3. In general, spacing between all attendees should be two seats, preferably six feet, and the rows of seats in front and behind them should be left empty.

This guideline also outlines protocols for employees, volunteers and the facilities where in-person services would be held, some which we would not be able to satisfy due to venue rental arrangements. Therefore, we will continue hosting our services online until further notice.

Thank you for understanding. Your continued love, prayer and support is much appreciated.

March 31, 2020

In order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, on March 29, 2020, President Trump extended federal social distancing guidelines to April 30, 2020. On March 31, 2020 Texas Governor Greg Abbott did the same (see Executive Order GA-19 and Press Announcement Video Clip). Because your health and the well-being of all people are of greater importance to us, we will be hosting our church services online until further notice.

On March 23, 2020 San Antonio Mayor, Ron Nirenberg issued Emergency Order #5, which in essence is a ‘Stay Home, Work Safe’ set of orders to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Although churches are exempt (see update below), your health and the well-being of all people are of greater importance to us and thus have prayerfully agreed to comply with this order and host our church service online this Sunday, March 29, 2020 @ 10:30am.

Dear New Creation Church Family,

Although our State Governor, Governor Greg Abbott has clearly stated that churches are exempt from Executive Order No. GA-08 relating to COVID-19 preparedness and mitigation (see link 1 below), where Order No. 1 (see link 2 below) states that “every person in Texas shall avoid social gatherings in groups of more than 10 people”, your health and the well-being of all people are of greater importance to us and thus have prayerfully decided to comply with this order and hold our church service online this Sunday, March 22, 2020 @ 10:30am.

The mentioned governor’s executive order comes into effect today Friday, March 20, 2020 at 11:59pm and remains in effect until 11:59pm on Friday, April 3, 2020. Therefore we will post another update closer to the time next week regarding our church service on Sunday, March 29, 2020.

As before, we encourage you to continue praying and fearlessly standing and believing during this trying time. We have also made our prayer service video available online for you to use as an aid (see link 3 below).

Because New Creation Church depends on the generosity of its congregation (expressed through tithes and offerings) to meet its financial commitments and continue amplifying the work of the Gospel, we encourage you to continue making your donations during this time through the following means:

  1. Our safe and secure PayPal service at: newcreationchurchsa.com/giving (click on “Donate”)
  2. By texting the dollar amount to: (210) 899-5099  (e.g. $50)

Lastly, know that we love, appreciate and always pray for you, and thank you for your love, prayer and support.

See you online on Sunday at 10:30am sharp! (see link 4 below)

In His Grace,

Pastors Marco & Helena Bravo
